Easy Mexican Rice

Easy Mexican Rice

1 1/2 tablespoon of vegetable oil

1 1/2 cup long grain rice

3 3/4 cups cold water

3 teaspoons salt

3 teaspoons garlic powder

1 cup of tomato sauce
2 strong shakes of hot sauce

In a skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add rice and cook until lightly browned. Add water and remaining ingredients, bring to a boil. Cover and simmer until rice is tender.
Serves 6
